first two ～　「最初から二つ目まで」最初の２日間・二試合・第１子と第２子など
first three ～「最初から三つ目まで」最初の３日間・三試合など
さすがに「第１子と第２子と第３子は～で、残りの子供たちは...」という表現はする機会が少ないだろう。
○ If we examine the plan more closely, we can see it is not practical.
examine 一番に思い浮かぶのは試験をするかな。このフレーズでは「検討する」
○ You should throw away your books. They are only collecting dust.
be collecting dust / be gathering dust
「ほこりをかぶっている」「長いあいだ使われていない」
○ This movie is going to be a huge success.
huge success　映画だと「空前の大ヒット作」なんてキャプションが付くのだろう。
○ All of the flights were cancelled due to the strike.
The opening events were canceled due to the massive quake.
九州新幹線全線開業は、こんな感じで表現できるのかな？
○ The company found a way to reduce costs and increased profits.
二日目にして、何とか英作文に成功。find a way to「やり方をみつける」。
○ She donates blood three times a year.
二日目にして、何とか英作文に成功。

しばらくしたら記憶は減衰する。時機を見てやり直しにトライせねば。
