昨日の復習
「ニュースで英会話（2009年11月23日から11月29日放送）」のキーフレーズ
キーワードは五つ。coin / consecutive / fish / shape/ experiment 。

coin名詞「硬貨、コイン」　動詞「（お金を）鋳造する」「新しい言葉や表現を創り出す

consecutive　「連続した」
日数、月数、年数などのあるまとまった単位が続いている状態、つまり、「一定の順序で連続している」ことを表す。
副詞consecutively　「連続して、連続的に」
consecutive interpreting　「逐次通訳」
発言者の話を少しずつ区切りながら、発言の後に続けて通訳を入れていく
simultaneous interpreting　「同時通訳」
国際会議などで発言者が話すことを、ヘッドフォンをつけて聞き同時に訳出

fish 名詞「魚」　動詞「魚をとる、探す、探る」
to fish　「釣りをする」 / go fishing 「釣りに行く」
"fish"の複数は"fish"
「さまざまな種類の魚」と言いたい時は"the fishes of the world"（世界にいる多種類の魚）というように"fishes"に。
fish for... / fish around（about） 「さがす」
形容詞fishy 「怪しい、うさんくさい」などの意味になります。
drink like a fish 「大酒を飲む」 I used to drink like a fish. 私は、昔大酒飲みだった。
swim like a fish 「魚のように泳ぐ、水泳の達人だ」

shape 動詞：形づくる、決定する、方向づける　名詞：形
in shapeは体型や体調が良いことを表す表現。
その状態を維持するという場合は、keep in shape / stay in shapeのように表現。

experiment　名詞：実験、新しい試み　動詞：試す、実験をする
名詞と動詞ではアクセントの位置が違う単語。

名詞experimentation　「試行、試すこと、実験をすること」数えることのできない名詞
