A famous journalist, IKEGAMI Akira, proposes some good ways to improve writing skills in his book.
One of them is to copy beautiful passages on your own hand.
He said that he used to copy senior journalists' articles.
It's more effective than just reading.
What do you recommend to improve writing skills in English?
To improve them in Japanese, I recommend copying passages in novels written by stylists.
For example, TANIZAKI Junichiro, DAZAI Osamu, MISHIMA Yukio and so on.
書けば書くほど、どんどん書けるようになるなぁ。
我ながら、ここ数週間の進歩に驚いています。
なんか、コツ、つかんだみたいです。
今日は3日分の添削が付きました。(^O^)
一挙に掲載です。
【昨日の日記】
添削前:
I always use my computer with the wireless mouse.
It's very convenient and useful.
But, yesterday, the mouse completely didn't work.
I realized the battery was dead.
I've changed the battery for a new one.
So, the mouse's got worked again.
添削後:

"not ~ at all"は学校で習いますが、ちょっと出てこなかったです。
これを機会に使えるようになりたいです。

【4/1の日記】
添削前:
There's a saying: "船頭多くして、船、山に上る."
That means too many boatmen raise the boat on the hill.
In other words, things don't work well under too many leaders.
In English, there's a similar saying: too many cooks spoil the broth.
I don't hope Fukushima nuclear crisis is going like these saying.
Japanese government must exercise strong leadership to settle the situation.
添削後:
IT means too many boatmen raise the boat on the hill.
In other words, things don't work well WITH too many leaders.
I hope THE Fukushima nuclear crisis isN'T going like these sayingS.
You can do it!
Lang-8を紹介いただいたおかげです。
最近、英語が楽しくて、ピアノがおろそかになってますが^^;
伸びてる今のうちに、集中的に勉強しようと思います。
chibikoさんももっと上達しますよ!
