Question:Why would an internet provider in Hong Kong has blocked a website supportive of pro-democracy activists?
According to this article,it is said that the website had been frequented by anti-government protesters.

So the provider disabled access to the website in the compliance with the requirement issued under the national security law.

However,the move came under the national security law,which came into force last June.

Unfortunately,the national security law can allow police to demand internet providers delete information and provide cooperation in connection with suspected crimes that can undermine public safety.

As the result,Honk Kong citizens are growing their concerns over the potential for increasing internet censorship similar to mainland China,where people's access to information is strictly restricted.
