Question:Why would Researchers have scientifically analyzed the Renaissance masterpiece?
According to this article,the masterpiece is huge mural,which was portrayed Jesus at his last meal with 12 apostles.It created more than five centuries ago.

However,the huge mural was found that a thin layer of plaster just beneath the surface and another layer of plaster painted uniformly at a depth of about two Millimeters.

In fact,analysis was conducted by applying high frequency electromagnetic waves,which is called terahertz waves,to four parts of the mural including Jesus Face.

The analysis of a wall of fragment more than 20 years ago suggested,artwork was a tempera in which paint is applied on a thin dry base rather than a fresco done when the wall was partially wet.

Furthermore,the findings suggest that Da Vinci spent time on details by using a technique,which allows more layering than frescoes.

Fortunately,the findings could help identify ways to restore and preserve the mural.
