so : そういうことで、～なので、だから、結果を表す、前文を受けて帰結のニュアンスもある。
I didn't use sunscreen, so I got burned.
日焼け止めを塗らなかったから、ずいぶん日焼けをしてしまってね。

※so は、とても so high は、とても高い（だから）…

therefore：文章で順接の「したがって」「そういうわけで」を表すときによく使われます。ビジネス文書や学術論文で、原因を示したあとの「結果」や「結論」を述べたいときには大変便利な表現です。口語でも使われますが、andやsoよりは少し堅い語です。
He didn’t do enough research; therefore, he got a bad grade.
彼は十分に研究しなかった、したがって成績が悪かったのだ。

hence : したがって、それゆえに、thereforeよりも更に堅い語で、フォーマルな文章で使われる。thereforeの繰り返しを避けたいときにも使う。
Hence, there is a clear merit for strengthening financial regulations.
それゆえ、金融規制を強化することには明らかな利点があるのだ。
