[Walking with Writers] -A Literary Journey around England-
[Chapter 7]
Beautiful Thou Art, Dear Valley: William and Dorothy Wordsworth Walk around Grasmere
William's poems are magnificent yet sensitive celebrations of Nature. Without doubt, the most famous and popular of them all is 'I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud', commonly known as 'The Daffodils',which was published in 1807:
I wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o'er Vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of dancing Daffodils;
Along the Lake, beneath the trees,
Ten thousand dancing in the breeze.
