Alana : You use the computer too much. You should get a massage?
あなたはコンピュータの使いすぎよ。マッサージをしてもらったら？

Hiroko : I've tried different kinds of massage, but none of them helped.
いろいろな種類のマッサージを試してみたけど、どれも効果がなかったよ。

Alana : Have you thought about acupuncture?
はり治療って考えたことはある？

Hiroki : Does it really work?
それってほんとうに効果があるのかな？

Alana : I'm not sure if acupuncture will help, but it's worth a try.
はり治療が効くかどうかはわからないけど、やってみる価値はあるわ。

Hiroki : Can you suggest any good places?
どこかいいところを勧めてくれるかい？

Alana : Let me do a web search and get back to you.
ウェブで検索させてもらえれば、あとであなたに連絡するわ。

Hiroki : Thanks a million.

Mrs. Kudo : Be careful not to hurt your back, dear. You're not so young anyone.
腰をいためないように気をつけてくださいね、あなた。もうそんなに若くはないんだから。

Mr. Kudo : Can you give me a hand?
ちょっと手伝ってくれるかい？

Mrs. Kudo : Sorry, I'd love to help, but I'm already running late for a doctor's appointment.
ごめんなさい、手伝いたいのはやまやまだけど、もうお医者さんの予約に遅れそうなの。

Mr. Kudo : It's too bad our homestay student went back to America.
ホームステイしていた学生がアメリカに帰ったのは、とても残念だね。

Mrs. Kudo : Yes, last year I made oshiruko for Sean after he cleared the snow for us.
そうね、去年は雪かきをしてくれたショーン君に、わたしがおしるこを作ったわね。

Mr. Kudo : Can you make some this year too?
今年も作ってくれるかい？

Mrs. Kudo : Of course!
もちろんよ！

Takuma : Hi, Miranda. I need your advice.
やあ、ミランダ。きみのアドバイスが必要なんだ。

Miranda : Sure, what's up?
いいわよ。どうしたの。

Takuma : I remember your great presentation on Ancient Rome and Tokyo. I'd like to compare Tokyo and ancient Greece.
きみが古代ローマと東京について行なったすばらしい研究発表のことを覚えているんだけど、ぼくは、東京と古代ギリシャを比べたいと思っているんだ。

Miranda : That's not original. You'd be giving the same presentation as mine.
それって独創的じゃないわね。あなたはわたしのと、同じ発表を売ることになるわ。

Takuma : Not really. Ancient Greece and ancient Rome were different cultures.
そうでもないよ。古代ギリシャと古代ローマは、異なる文化なんだから。

Miranda : I take your point, but I think you've misunderstood what I meant. It's basically the same idea.
あなたの言いたいことはわかるけど、あなたはわたしが言ったことを、誤解していると思うわ。それは基本的に同じ発想なのよ。

Takuma : So, I shouldn't do it?
じゃあ、そうすべきじゃないってこと？

Miranda : Well, something completely different would be better.
そうね、なにかまったく違うことにした方がいいでしょうね。

Alexis : But I want to go shopping for clothes.
でもわたしは服を買いに行きたいな。

Casper : It'll just take a second. Oh, wait. This is s rare figure.
ちょっとしか時間がないからさ。おや、ちょっと待った。これは珍しいフィギュアだね。

Alexis : A princess Layla figure? You have five of those already.
レイラ姫の人形が？　それなら、もう５つも持っているでしょ。

Casper : But I need to get this one.
でもこれはぜひ手に入れなきゃ。

Alexis : You can't be serious! Look at the price. It's 50,000 yen! For a figure? Why?
本気なの！　値段を見てちょうだい。五万円ですって！　１つの人形が？　どうして？

Casper : It's a limited edition.
これは限定品なんだ。
