L66 論点の配列④:時の副詞を論点配列に使う
☆soon「すぐに・まもなく」
・Our company will soon be introducing two exciting new products.
・I will soon move on to the key point of my presentation.
☆as soon as「~するとすぐ」
・As soon as I finish, I will be happy to take any questions.
☆immediately「すぐに」
 Immediatelyの方がas soon asより即座にといった感触がある。
・Immediately after this section, let’s take a short break.
☆for a moment「少しの間」
・I’d like to digress for a moment with an interesting anecdote.
☆later「あとに」
・I will give more concrete examples later.
L67 論点の配列⑤:before、after
☆before「~の前」出来事の順序関係を示す。
・Before we begin today’s lesson, let me give you some information about yoga.
・Before discussing the main topic, let me give you some background information.
☆after「~のあと」イメージは「ついていく」順序関係を表す。
・First, I’ll introduce my company. After that, I’ll give a detailed description of our latest product.
L68 話題の転換:さまざまな「つなぎ言葉」
☆Having said that「そうは言っても・それでもやはり」自分のそれまでの発言を「清算して」本筋を述べるフレーズ。

☆anyway「とにかく」「清算」のニュアンスを持つ。

☆in any case「とにかく・いずれにせよ」
・In any case, the meeting will take place as planned.
☆by the way「ところで」by(近く)のway(道)に入るということ。本筋から離れて脇道に移動するビジュアルな表現。

☆talking of/speaking of「~と言えば」本筋の話題を起点として、別の話題に転換する表現。

L69 情報の出どころの明確化
☆according to「~によれば」情報の出どころを明確にして、自分の意見とほかの人の意見を切り分け、内容の信頼性を増すことができる。

☆in my opinion「私の考えでは・自分としては・個人的な意見としては」意見の切り分けの他、不用意な発言で相手に言質をとらせない効果もある。
・In my opinion, the legend is a memory from the distant past.
☆from my point of view「私に言わせれば」一般に言われていることと違うといった異論に対する逃げ道を確保することができる。
・From my point of view, this product offers very good value for money.
☆as far as I know「私の知る限り」far(遠く)を用いることによって「範囲」を示している。

前半に要点がまとめられていて、後半の訳にいろいろな要素がつまっていていつも、いい文だなあと思っています。でも、全部を完全に暗記するのは難しいですね。いつもありがとうございます。覚えやすいです。

大西先生がテキストの文章は全て覚えてくださいね。とよくおっしゃっていましたが、
それだけの思いを込めた内容だからだと感じます。
と言っても完全暗記は無理ですけどね😅
