Have you heard that Ryan is leaving the company? Can we talk a bit?
・Did you hear about the proposed pay cut?
Can you spare some time to discuss this?
・You didn’t know that the company is planning to cut our pay by 20%, did you?
Have you got time to talk about this?
Have you heard that Ryan is leaving the company?
☆Have you heard that~「あれ聞いてる?(知ってる?)」hearは「聞く⇒知っている」に意味が広がる動詞。
Ryan? Are you kidding? He’s been here forever. Why is he leaving?
It’s kind of a long story. Can we talk a bit?
☆Can we talk a bit?:
Sure. I’m just a little shocked at this news.
☆a little shocked at this news:byを使うことも可能だが、このニュースを聞いた時点でと「点」が意識されているのでatとしている。

Me too. He’s one of our top game creators.
That’s true. What are we going to do without him?
☆be going to:「未来」を表す形だが、ここではgo to の進行形。
I’m not sure. Let’s go for a coffee, and I’ll tell you everything.
☆Let’s go for a coffee:Let’sは相手を強く引っ張る勢いのある「~しよう」Shall we~?「~しませんか」の場合は相手の手を取る優しい提案となる。
☆and I’ll tell you everything:andは「そしたら」と流れが感じられる。
Did you hear about the proposed pay cut?
Can you spare some time to discuss this?

You didn’t know that the company is planning to cut our pay by 20%, did you?
Have you got time to talk about this?
☆You didn’t know that「知らなかったんじゃない?」
☆Have you got time~?「時間がありますか」どういった時間かをto不定詞以下to talk about thisが説明している。

You didn’t know about the new schedule, did you?
Let’s have a coffee and I’ll fill you in.
