  The boss is really angry about the presentation we gave yesterday.
・Jo, we need to have a serious talk. Let’s move to a quieter place.
  Your performance has gotten worse and worse.
・Good morning, Helen. Could you please come to my office?
  I’ve received several complaints about your department.

☆相手に秘密を打ち明ける台本

☆忙しくしている人に話しかけるワンクッションの台本
・I don’t mean to bother you, but I need your advice.

・I know you’re busy, but there’s an urgent matter we have to discuss.
・I know you’re busy, but I’m afraid this can’t wait.

☆Can I have a word?:相手に緊迫感を与える言葉。

2.君に早急に対処してほしいことがあるんですが。

There’s something that requires your immediate attention.

☆There’s something 「何かがある」とまず述べてからsomethingを関係代名詞節で説明している。
☆immediate attention「早急の対処・処置・配慮」immediateは「すぐの・即時の」attentionは「注意を向け、対処する」ところまでを含んでいる。
           
B.友人のピエールがナオミと別れたことを聞き、キャサリンにそのことを確認して、ピエールを元気づける提案する。

3.やあ、調子はどう?

Hi. How’s it going?

4.悪くないよ。ところでナオミがピエールと別れたって聞いた?

No bad. By the way, have you heard that Naomi broke up with Pierre?

☆No bad. By the way:挨拶を受け、「ところで」と本題に移っている。
☆have you heard that~?「聞いた?知ってる?」と相手の知識を確かめる表現。
☆break up with「~と別れる」

5.彼を元気づけるために一杯飲みに連れて行こうよ。

Let’s take him for a drink to cheer him up.

☆take him「彼を連れていく」
☆cheer~up「~を元気づける」upには「気分が上がる」が感じられる。
