●Reading
　When people think of England, many of them think of tea. A lot of people imagine English people drink Earl Grey with a cup, a saucer and a teapot. In fact, Earl Grey, a flavored tea, is the second most popular tea in England. The most popular kind is regular black tea.
Black tea is much more popular than any other type of tea. English people usually make it with a teabag and drink it in a mug. Most people have milk with it and some have sugar, too. They rarely use cups and saucers, and it’s unusual to use a teapot.
Black tea is most commonly bought from supermarkets, where there is a big selection. Many people choose to drink decaffeinated tea. This information surprises a lot of people from other countries. They may also be surprised to find out the third popular tea in England. It’s a green tea.

　They spent the afternoon together, taking a carozza ride around the town, and shooting rifles at a booth in a corner of the plaza. But Seppe did not walk all the way back to the hotel with Merrick. He stopped at the last curve in the road before the hotel, and said with an air of contempt (for the hotel) that he didn’t care to walk any farther.
‘Okay,’ Merrick said agreeably. ‘Well－take it easy, Seppe. See you tomorrow maybe.’ He went on.
The woman who had been robbed did not speak to Merrick that evening, or even nod to him. Merrick didn’t care. She associated him her loss, mistakenly, and there was nothing he could do about it. Merrick sat long in the swing chair after dinner, alone and dreaming.

「わかった……心配いらないよ、セッペ。またあした会おう」メリックは愛想よく言うと、そのままホテルに向かった。
　盗難に遭った女はその晩メリックに口ひとつきかず、会釈もしなかった。が、彼はきにとめなかった。誤解だが、彼女は品物が盗まれたのをメリックのせいにしているのだから、彼としてはどうしようもない。メリックは夕食後揺り椅子に一人で長い間座って空想にふけった。
