M: Where did you get that jacket, Yuri?
Y: Actually, this is my mom’s old jacket. I’m into reusing family clothes.
　　My mom lets me use her on old things. I think retro fashion is so cool.
M: Yeah.
Y: You can find some really unique designs.
　　Also, we can save money and we don't throw away so many clothes.
M: What s great idea!
Y: What are you into, Mike?
M: Well, I enjoy visiting old castles in Japan.

M: Yeah. It’s so interesting. I’m learning a lot about Japanese history,

　The top string snapped as Komako plucked tentatively at samisen. Shimamura could tell even while she was changing the string and tuning the instrument that she had a firm, confident touch. 　駒子は三の糸を指ではじき切って附け替えてから、調子を合わせた。その間にもう彼女の音の冴えは分かったが、火燵の上に嵩張った風呂敷包を開いてみると、普通の稽古本の外に、杵家弥七の文化三味線請が二十冊ばかり入っていたので、島村は意外そうに手に取って、
「こんなもので稽古したの？」
「だって、ここにはお師匠さんがないんですもの。しかたがないわ。」
「うちにいるじゃないか。」
「中風ですわ。」
「中風だって、口で。」
「その口もきけなかったの。まだ踊は、動く方の左手で直せるけれど、三味線は耳がうるさくなるばっかり。」

◎つぶやき：今回のウクライナ戦争ではウクライナの女性兵士が3万人もいるとか。たまたまなのであろうが、今回の本屋大賞は第2次大戦の独ソ戦の少女スナイパー(狙撃手)が主人公で、本屋にはこの本が山積みになっている。舞台になっている地域も重なっている。これは売れそう。自分のPCのKindleにはサンプルのみ入っている。写真のような若い女性兵士がロシア軍の捕虜にならないことを祈るばかりだ。かつて先の大戦では、大陸にいた日本の女性はソ連軍兵士にひどい目に遭った人が多かったという。
