この You have my word ～ は定型表現なんですね。

So, could you explain the nuance of this “You have my word”?

Well, I feel like it’s a way to emphasize the importance of what you’re saying, so it’s a very serious thing.
There’s no way I’m going to break my word, it’s a promise.

Yes, and in the olden days, your word was ？？？, that was your honor, so it’s a really serious gift, if you liked somebody if you said, “You have, you have my word”.


気軽な状況ではないんだ、ということですね。
しっかりと絶対にこの約束は違えないという意識で相手に渡すイメージなんだ、というわけですね。
シリアスな響きなんだということ。





サービスが遅れて大変申し訳ありません。あいにく今晩はスタッフの人数が足りないんです。

So, in what kind of situations do you use “I assure you”?

Well, you use it when the person you’re talking to needs assurance.

So, there’s obviously some doubt in that person’s mind as to whether what you’re saying you’ll do, you will actually do.

★as to whether ～　　～するかどうかについて

相手が確証を得たいという時に使うんだ、ということですね。
相手は何か疑いを持ってるわけですね、「こうしてくれるのかな？」「ほんとにやってくれるのかな？」という、その疑いを払拭して I assure you「確約いたしますよ」そうしたニュアンスで使うんだ、ということです。

僕は「ほんとにゴメン、格好良くて」と言ったらですね、「目を診てもらったら」って言ったりですね、「そんなことは絶対にないと私が保証します」みたいなことをローザさんが言うとか、散々です。
