This week from Monday to Thursday we have our Skill Tests.
Today’s SPR Skill Test is based on this month’s advanced phrases.

I’ll say something in Japanese, and you’ll say it in English.

Here’s the first one.
ここは警備員が24時間常駐しています。


OK, next.
Can you say “共同菜園”?　つまり「共同の庭」
In English it’s “community garden”.
So, use that make this sentence.
共同菜園で野菜を育てたいですか？


金属の資源回収箱はどれですか？


Try to use “not allowed to” in this sentence.
ここは駐輪禁止です。


Next, we talk about “洗濯物”, laundry.
Try to say this sentence.
洗濯物を窓から干してはいけません。


下の階の人に配慮して下さいね。


気をつけます。


マンションのみんなは仲良くやっています。


このあたりの交差点はちょっと危ないです。


何かあれば、声をかけて下さいね。

There’s a security guard here twenty-four hours a day.
　　　↓
OK, there are two points.
First, “警備員” is not guard man, it’s security guard.
And second one is “24時間”, twenty-four hours a day.
例えば「24時間、開いています。」
How do you say that in English?
It’s open twenty-four hours a day.


共同菜園で野菜を育てたいですか？
Would you like to grow vegetables in our community garden?
　　　↓
Oh, that was a long sentence ????? you say it again.
Would you like to grow vegetables in our community garden?
OK, repeat this one after Jenny.

金属の資源回収箱はどれですか？
Which recycle bin is for metals?
　　　↓
You can say “recycle box”, but “recycle bin” is the standard way to express it, recycle bin.
OK, repeat after Jenny.
Which recycle bin is for metals?


ここは駐輪禁止です。
We are not allowed to park our bikes here.
　　　↓
Let’s make one more sentence with “We are not allowed to ～”.
For example,「そこは立入禁止です。」
How do you say that in English?
We are not allowed to go there.


洗濯物を窓から干してはいけません。
We are not allowed to hang laundry from the windows.


下の階の人に配慮して下さいね。
Just be considerate of the people downstairs.


気をつけます。
I’ll be careful.
　　　↓
Do express “気をつける” not “take care”, use “be careful”.


マンションのみんなは仲良くやっています。
Everyone in the condo gets along.


このあたりの交差点はちょっと危ないです。
The intersections around here are a little dangerous.
