13. The assassination of John F. Kennedy

Governor Connally was also shot in the shoulder, and after being shot, he cried out, "Oh no, no, no. My god. They're going to kill us all!" Special Agent Clint Hill, who was following the president in the car directly behind him, jumped into the president's car and tried to protect him. As soon as he jumped in, the car sped up and headed straight to Parkland Memorial Hospital.

The doctors who received President Kennedy at the hospital said Kennedy's condition was so bad when he arrived that he did not have any chance at survival. They tried all they could, but the president was declared dead at 1:00 p.m.

The body of John F. Kennedy was flown back to Washington, D.C., on Air Force One. Vice President Lyndon Ｂ. Johnson officially became the president of the United States on the airplane at 2:38 p.m.. Kennedy's wife, Jacqueline, stood by Johnson's side.

13．ケネディ大統領暗殺 〜 一昨日のつづき

コナリー知事も肩を撃たれ、「 おお、何たることだ！神よ。我ら全員を殺すというのか！」と叫んだ。大統領のすぐ後ろの車にいたシークレットサービスのクリント・ヒルが、大統領の車に飛び移り、彼を守ろうとした。彼が飛び移るとすぐに車はスピードをあげ、まっすぐパークランド・メモリアル病院に向かった。

病院でケネディ大統領を受け入れた医師たちは、ケネディの状態は病院に到着した時にはとても悪く、持ち直せる可能性はなかったと話した。彼らは最善を尽くしたが、午後1時、死を宣告された。

ジョン・フィッツジェラルド・ケネディの遺体は大統領専用機でワシントンに戻された。副大統領のリンドン・B・ジョンソンは2時38分、飛行機の中で公式にアメリカ大統領となった。ケネディ夫人のジャクリーンはジョンソンを支持した。
