ホテルにはどれくらいで着きますか。

takeのあとにto+動詞の原形を付けることにより、さまざまな場面に応用できる。

★I'm afraid not.
残念ですが、ちょっと……。

やんわりと断る際に使うフレーズ。I'm afraid を文頭に持ってくることで、「残念ながら」「不本意ながら」「すみませんが」というニュアンスが相手に伝わる。相手の質問に、「残念ながらそうではないようです」と答えるときにも使う。

At last I displayed a Christmas tree today.
I was going to stop displaying it this year.
But after all I displayed it.
