Transportation is expected to become cheaper with autonomous vehicles. Even warehouses are becoming smart, with robots reducing human interaction and the spread of viral diseases.
On a personal level, I can now spend more time with my family. I have time to think about dietary balance and strengthening our immune systems through home cooking, which contributes to a better quality of life for me and my family. I think I’ve also become kinder, not only to my family but to people around me, too. Even when my sons act up, I don’t easily get mad. It turns out that kindness can be a better motivator than strict discipline.
During the lockdown, I noticed how much cleaner the air became. That brought home to me how we pollute our planet through our daily activities. It’s up to us as a species to use our technological skills to stop global warming.
At the beginning of the pandemic, many people complained about feeling suffocated by wearing masks. Some medical sources even said wearing them was useless. But we eventually learned that masking is one of the best ways to ward off the virus. We’ve all acquired new sanitary habits. For example, I’ve learned about Japanese shoe etiquette from Kyohei. My family and I now take off our shoes at home. We feel much cleaner and safer that way.
