ネーダーコールン靖子　福岡県宗像市生まれ。宮崎大学教育学部を卒業後、'72年に
オランダに渡り、ロブ・ネーダーコールンと結婚。
'79年からアムテスルダム日本人学校の音楽教師に就く。'87年「オランダ歌句会」が
結成され、朝日歌壇に投稿を始める。'97年に甲状腺ガンの転移再発で手術を受けるが、
回復の見込みが絶たれ安楽死を希望。同年９月17日永眠。52歳だった。

The structure of the novel is different from other Poirot stories, as it
began from twelve short stories (eleven in the US) that had been separately
published. This is a tale of international intrigue and espionage, therefore
opening up the possibility of more spy fiction from Christie.
Chief inspector Japp has become Assistant Commissioner.
