SUSHI CHAIN SUES PRANKSTER FOR HARMING ITS BUSINESS
sue A (for damages)は「(損害賠償を求めて)Aを訴える、Aに対して訴えを起こす」。file a lawsuit against Aとも言う。
post a video on social mediaは「SNSに動画を投稿する」。
ちなみに、prank callなら「いたずら電話」、play a prank on …
file a lawsuit against …
The clutter in the room offended my eyes.

★Discussion Session
Asuka: Recently, many young people have posted prank videos on social media. Personally, they bother me a lot. This has been seen not only in Japan but also around the world, I am sure. What about in the U.S.?
Tom: Oh, those kinds of videos are everywhere — and they're always getting crazier. In today's social media-dominated world, the wilder the video you post, the more views it gets, and the more clout — influence, in other words — you gain. It's a weird system.
Asuka: Right. The biggest concern about this kind of act is the digital tattoo it leaves. The people who post such videos may not consider this point enough.
Tom: Basically, the recordings last forever. That's a scary thing to think about.
Asuka: That's right. Pranks have been around for a long time. The difference is people didn't carry video cameras all the time in the past, so they didn't have easy opportunities to record the foolish acts and spread them on the internet.
Tom: But people have smartphones with cameras now.
Asuka: Correct. So what adults need to do is to teach children not to conduct such acts and help them recognize the terrifying aspects of digital tattoos.
Tom: Agreed. Now that my daughter has her own smartphone, I'm going to try to get her to ask herself something before she puts something online: What if this post goes viral? What if people remember my name or face from this video? Hopefully that’ll help her at least give a second thought to the effects it could have. Sometimes, that makes a huge difference.
