An interview for a volunteer
Oh, are you here for the interview for The Volunteer Center?
Yes, I hope I didn’t keep you waiting.
You’re right on time. We’ve been looking forward to talking with you.
Same here. And I’m looking forward to hearing about the position.
Can I confirm your name?
Sure. It’s Hanako Sato.
And should I call you by your first or last name?
My first name, Hanako. If that’s OK.
OK. And just call me Steve.
OK. I will, Steve.
Have a seat here.
Thanks.
So have you ever volunteered before?
Well, I volunteered several times at my son’s school. But I’ve never volunteered at an office like this.
How about paid work? What kind of job do you have now or have you had?
I worked at a small Japanese company. I helped with the marketing.
I see. What hours and days are you available to volunteer?
Well, when would you like me to be available?
I volunteered for 3 years at my son’s high school. I enjoyed it with dozens of mothers. Some of them had unique personalities. It was a good old memory.
That's right! Plus I could know about my son's school life.
