Gaining new skills will put you in a better position to take advantage of the move to a digital economy that’s been accelerated by the pandemic.
History also shows that waves of technological innovations continually create new jobs that we couldn’t previously have imagined. Many jobs that will exist in, say, 2030 may not yet exist today.
Yes, digital transformation is creating new job positions that weren’t around 10 years ago. It’s taking some jobs away and creating new ones. The most in-demand skills in technology these days include data analysis and visualization, machine learning and cloud computing. There’s also digital marketing, project management, and financial analysis.
As we all know, the pandemic has caused a drastic rise in the number of people who work remotely, as well as in e-commerce and robotics. Many people who work found themselves working from home for the first time realized they never want to step foot in an office again. Others, like me, got used to the hybrid work model.
Technology is changing the way we work. We do more and more of our work online, and we’re using digital and mobile technologies in new and exciting ways. We use artificial intelligence to interact with customers and employees. We’re also automating more and more tasks.
