Reskilling 5×5×5 (4)
I’ve become mildly obsessed by cybersecurity after a close call with some sneaky cyber thieves. As we increasingly rely on technology, the security of digital systems ad networks is critical for the smooth functioning of infrastructure and essential services. I’ve decided that I want to be a specialist in that area, and so I’ve signed up for some professional courses.
Good for you, Janet. Cybersecurity can be a frustrating cat-and-mouse game, but, it’s absolutely crucial if we want to protect sensitive information and systems from cyberattacks-especially ransomware, which is very scary indeed.
Thanks, Tim. I’m quite excited about my new learning adventure. By the way, I hear you’re relearning Spanish.
Si, senora! Unlike Frank’s experience, my parents didn’t encourage me to be bilingual. They wanted me to be as American as apple pie. They only spoke English with me at home. So, my Spanish is very elementary and quite rusty. I’ve set myself a goal of becoming truly fluent in Spanish. I want to be posted to a position in Latin America, hopefully with A&A. That depends on how things work out in the next few years. I’m also studying digital marketing to tap into Hispanic communities.
That’s great, Tim. As the world becomes more and more interconnected, the ability to speak multiple languages is becoming increasingly valuable. It’s a transferrable skill that you can take with you wherever you go and whatever you do. As for me, I’ve been taking stock of my strengths and weaknesses.
