親と妹への愛

　Two days after I met the little boy,
I read in the newspaper that a drunk driver had hit a car
carrying a young woman and a little girl.
The little girl had died right away, and the mother had passed away
a few days later.

I thought they must surely have been the little boy's mother and sister.
And, the newspaper said the mother's funeral would be held the next day.

I couldn't stop myself from buying a bunch of white roses and
going to the funeral home where the body of
the young woman was lying.
