Useful phrase

⓵☆I want to be famous because I want to make people happy with my cooking.
It might be interesting to be well-known!
Famous people can influence their fans.

“Do you want to be famous?”

Ananda:Yes, I want to be famous.I think if you're famous,you have the power to change people's minds. So if I want to say something,I can use my position as a famous person to speak to a lot of people.

・change people's minds=infulence people

・If she's famous,many people will know her. So when she talks, many people will listen to her.

“Do you want to be famous?”

Vinay:Yes and no. I want to be a little famous,because I love to make people laugh. So it would be fun to be a succesful comedian. But I don't want to be very famous, because I want to be able to walk in the street, ride the train or go to the store without people bothering me.

1)リード
Leaders in Finland and Sweden have chosen to keep their countries non-aligned since World War II. But what they've seen in Ukraine has prompted them to reconsider.

☆What is Finland's and Sweden's status in relation to NATO?
-They are partners.

☆Are all Swedes happy with applying for NATO membership?
-No, they are not.

2)The leaders met in Stockholm to discuss their countries' relationship with NATO. Finland and Sweden are partners with the alliance, but not part of it.

“The change in the security landscape makes it necessary to analyze how we best secure peace for Finland and in our region in the future.”

Finns and Russians share a border. Marin says members of parliament will debate and decide “within weeks” whether to apply for NATO membership.



4)(Magdalena Andersson / Swedish Prime Minister)
“We have to really think through what is best for Sweden and our security and our peace in this new situation.”

Many Swedes aren't convinced. But Andersson and Marin agree there's no other way to have such security guarantees “than under NATO's deterrence.”
