昨日京都市からラインが来た。
今日は五山の送り火の日。市内の五つの山にかがり火がともる。
その火を際立たせるため、送り火が見える場所では灯りを控えろとの呼びかけだ。
この火の目印に、お盆に帰ってきていた死者の魂はあの世に帰る。

Yesterday I received a line from Kyoto City.
Today is the day of Gozan-no-Okuribi or Bon-fires will be lit on five mountains in the city.
In order to make the bonfires stand out, the city is asking people to refrain lights in places where the bonfires can be seen.
The souls of the dead who have returned for the Bon festival will return to the other world with this fire as a landmark.
