2012年5月21日(月)

Though my son and I had been looking forward to the solar eclipse, thick clouds prevented us from seeing. If it had cleared up ten minutes earlier, we could have seen it. My son got disappinted and went back to bed to have some more sleep before going to school. I watched the eclipse on TV. It was beautiful and marvelous! I couldn't help being moved by the wonder of nature.

Today's expresssions

prevent 人　from ~ing: 人が～するのを妨げる

can't help ~ing = can't help but 動詞の原形：～せずにはいられない

be moved by ~ : ～に感動する

Dear　ひでさん、

なんと根気強い！　私はここ平塚市で見えると言われていた時間に、弁当作りのてを止め庭に飛び出しました。一瞬雨がやんだと喜んだものの(>_<)。。。
確かに、テレビで見たら指輪みたいでした(+o+)。

私は、日食の始まった６時半からみておりました。。。
金環になった時は本当に感動でありました。

Dear XYZさん、

How lucky you are! It eased you of your tiredness after the night shift. I am, so called, "晴れ女", but it didn't cleared up in time.
Anyway, "There's always nexttime."??? When is th next? 18 years later in Hokkaido! OMG!
