Bird and Insects Cope With Climate Change (2)

The biggest reason is the loss of habitat caused by agricultural practices, urbanization and deforestation as the number of people on the planet keeps growing and our impact on the environment accelerates. One way to foster bird-friendly habitats is to grow native plants.
Another factor is the increasing use of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture and contamination with chemical pollutants of all kinds. We have to reduce our use of pesticides.
Then there’s climate change. The main cause of global warming is humans. We’ve released huge quantities of toxic gases like carbon dioxide and CFCs into the atmosphere. As a result, glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, ecosystems are dying, and wildlife is disappearing at an alarming rate.
Many birds seem to be adapting to climate change-but probably not fast enough. Data that focuses on common bird species show that some bird populations are breeding, laying eggs and migrating earlier. That makes them better prepared for the earlier onset of spring, which is a significant result of climate change.
Rising temperatures cause plants to flower earlier and insects to develop earlier. Hear waves, wildfires, droughts and storms also threaten many wild species. The threat that global warming and climate change pose to the survival of mankind is a very real concern. A lot of attention ahs been focused on the problem of rising sea levels, but declining insect populations are also a major issue.

Dignity is a mask we wear to hide our ignorance.
