Driver's Licenses — 1 運転免許
日本に住む外国人にとっての難関としてよく挙げられるものに、
「日本での運転免許取得」があります。
異国で車の運転のために自国よりもずっと厳しい試験を受ける
と言うのは、確かに、とてつもないストレスと言えそうです。
There are a lot of different reasons why some foreign residents
decide to leave Japan.
They may need to care for an aging parent back home
or have a better career opportunity somewhere else.
Or maybe they're just tired of being a foreigner.
I've heard these and many other reasons,
but here's one that's new to me: They can't get
drivers license because they keep failing the test.

・new to 〜 ……〜にとって目新しい、〜には初耳である
在留外国人が日本を去ろうと決める理由には、さまざまあります。
故国で、年老いた親の世話が必要になったり、
どこか他のところで良い仕事の機会が得られたり。
あるいは、外国人でいることにうんざりしてしまっただけかもしれません。
こうしたものやほかにも多くの理由を耳にしてきましたが、
私にとって初耳の理由があります。
試験に落ち続けて、運転免許が取れないと言うものです。
( This is my first time to hear that it is difficult
to get driver's license for foreign resident in Japan.
We heard a lot that if we need to drive in a foreign country,
get a license in advance.
I've heard a man said that it's easier to get driver's license
in America than Japan.
He was moving to America alone.
He said that I brought my car in and took the test.
Then he told us that l'm not good at undesrstanding English
at first what American was saying in English.

I'm aiso not good at undesrstanding and speaking in English.
It's not stressful though, but foreign residents have
another problem in Japan.)

運転免許証は歩行者の生命にもかかわりますから、厳しさが必要かと思います。

この果実は柑橘系でしょうか？ 随分と高い塀でまた独特の形状ですね。

外国に着くと同時に、日本に帰ってきたという話は、聞いたことがあります。
言葉の壁だったということですが、有名な大学を卒業された若者でした。
これは興味があるお話ですね。
母国を決意を持って離れ、なんとかその地で生活したいと思っても思わぬ障害があるものですね。
言葉が通じにくくて不便な上にこういう具体的な障害が出てくるとショックで生活を続ける意欲がなくなってくるとおもいます。
そして、人との交流が大きな課題ですね。
