滋賀県マキノのメタセコイア並木を見に行った。
果樹園や田んぼが両脇に広がるまっすぐな道の横に大きなメタセコイアの樹が整然とならんでいる。
多くの人は車で通るだけだったが、この並木の魅力を味わうには不十分な気がして歩いて一往復してしまった。
並木道のそこここにはお店や飲食店が点在していて、こちらもとても楽しめた。
渋滞には泣かされたが、十分来たかいがあった。
I went to see a row of metasequoia trees in Makino, Shiga Prefecture.
Large metasequoia trees stand in neat rows alongside a straight road flanked on both sides by orchards and rice paddies.
Most people just drove by, but I felt that was not enough to appreciate the charm of this row of trees, so I walked there and back.
There were stores and eateries scattered throughout the tree-lined avenue, which I also enjoyed very much.
The traffic jam was a bit of a bummer, but it was well worth the trip.
