In yesterday's election, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) lost a large number of seats and was forced to lose its majority.
The party has long had a unique concept called “misogi.
The idea is that no matter what misdeeds they commit in the Diet, if they win the next election, it will all be forgotten.
Misogi” means to wash and purify one's hands and body before going in front of the gods.
They want to think that if they win the election and gain the trust of the people, any wrongdoing will be purged.
While some people have been reminded that such reasoning does not apply outside the party, others have not.
In fact, they could have lost more seats.
