80歳の母にベランダのペンキ塗りを頼んだと聞いたら、「なんてひどい娘だ」という人が多いだろう。
しかし母はペンキ塗りが大好きなのだ。
もちろん足場が安全で、楽に塗れる場所しか頼まないのだが。
今日も上機嫌で塗り、おしゃべりをして帰っていった。

Many people would say, “What a terrible daughter” if they heard that I asked my 80-year-old mother to paint my wooden terrace.
But my mother loves to paint.
Of course, I only asks her to paint where the scaffolding is safe and where she can paint easily.
Today, she painted again in a good mood, chatted with me, and went home.
