C: それはどうも. そのレシピはネットで見つけたんだ。ハンバーグステーキきのこソースがけさ。思ったより簡単だったよ。
Thanks, I found the recipe the internet. Hamburg steak with mushroom gravy. It was easier than I thought.

A: また作ってね。
Please make it again.

C: 勿論さ、喜んで。
Sure, I’d love to.

A: キャスパー料理をしてくれたのはありがたいんだけど、お皿はみんなシンクに運んで置いてね。
Casper, I appreciate your cooking, but please put the dishes in the sink.

C: そうだった。時々忘れてしまうんだ。
I know. I forget sometimes.

A: それから、絶対ナイフはこんなふうに出したままにしておかないで。洗って引き出しに戻しておくだけでいいから。
And never, leave the knife out like this. Just wash it and put it back in the drawer.

C: うん、わかった。
OK, I got it.

When I was about to leave the hospital after finishing my orthopedic visit today, I received a phone call from my uncle to ask me to go shopping with him.
This uncle, who sometimes appears in my diary will turn 94 years old this year.
He graduated from Keio University, worked for a major insurance company for many years, and he had lived in Ebisu, Tokyo.
However, his wife passed away many years ago, and his Ebisu apartment was inherited by his only daughter.
He seems to have always wanted to spend his old age in his peaceful hometown where the sea can be overlooked, and came back to his hometown.
Although he is hard of hearing, he has strong teeth and no dentures, so he can eat meat, rice cakes, and anything.

Surprisingly, he has passed the tough tests of the police and hospitals and has bought a new car this year and is driving it, despite the strong objections of his daughter's couple and those around him.
Thus, his daughter couple must come here in order to accompany him to the hospital from Kanagawa every six months.
I just wish there was an age limit for driver's licenses.


今日整形外科の受診が終わって病院を出ようとしたときに伯父から買い物に付き合ってほしいと電話がありました。
私の日記に時々出てくるこの叔父は今年94歳になります。
彼は慶応大学を卒業し大手の保険会社に長年勤めて東京の恵比寿で暮らしていました。
しかし彼の妻はずっと前になくなり、彼の恵比寿のマンションも一人娘に相続させてこちらに帰ってきました。
彼は老後は海の見える穏やかな故郷で過ごしたかったそうです。
彼は耳は遠いものの歯も丈夫で入れ歯もなくお肉でもお餅でも何でも食べれます。
驚くことに彼は娘夫婦や周囲の猛反対を押し切り警察や病院の難しい（認知症）テストにも合格し今年新車を買いそれに乗っていることです。
そのために彼の娘さん夫婦はその病院に付き添うため半年に一度神奈川からでてこなければなりません。
免許に年齢制限があればよいのに…。
