Gon, The Fox
There was a full moon in the night sky,
and Gon decided to out for a walk.
Insects were singing in the trees.
As Gon walked along, he heard some voices.
He moved to one side of the road and into the grass so that
he wouldn't be seen.
The voices came closer and closer.
They were the voices of Hyoju and the farmer kasuke.
”Do you know what, Kasuke？“ said Hyoju.
“No, What?” said Kasuke.
“These days, strange things keep happening.”
“Like what?”
“Almost every day now,” Hyouju said, “I find chestnuts in my house.”
“Who would do a thing like that? asked Kasuke.
“I have no idea,” said Hyoju.
“They do it when I’m not at home.”
Gon followed the two men as they walked along.
“Is that so?” said Kasuke.
“Yes, it is,” said Hyoju.
“If you don't believe me, come over tomorrow.I'll show you the
chestnuts.”
“Well, life sure is strange,” said Kasuke.

先日友だちに残暑お見舞いの葉書き書きました。
残暑見舞いの時期ですね。
何人か出したい人がいます。
でも年賀状の時期になるかもしれませんが、今年から年賀状をやめる人は多いかもしれませんね。
「ごんぎつね」思い出しながら読んでいます。
萩に隠れて月、秋の気配が少しずつですが来てますね。芒の穂も出てきてます。
でも残暑、残暑ですね。
