Gon, the Fox
The next day, Gon picked up a lot of chestnuts off the ground
and went to Hyouju’s house.
Inside the house, Hyouju was eating his lunch.
He was holding a rice bowl in his hand and looking off into space.
There was a cut on Hyouju's face.
“What happensd to Hyoku's face?” thought Gon.
Just then, Hyoju said to himself,
“Someone put those fish in my house.
But the fish seller thought I took them, and gave me this cut.”
“What have I done now?” thought Gon.
“It is my fault that the the fish seller hit Hyoju in the face.”
Gon then went around to the back of the house
and left the chestnuts there.
After that , he went back to his hole.
The next day, Gon went to Hyoju’s house and left a lot of
chestnuts and some mushrooms.

いったいどうしたんだとおもいやるゴンです。
写真 座敷の柱にかけています。
「ごんぎつね」切ない物語ですね。
誤解が誤解を生んで、人間社会にありがちな事です。
この絵本を群馬の土屋文明記念文学館で買いました。
地方の文化施設は充実している所がかなりあります。
「Heaven(God) helps those who help themselves.」の訳語のようですね。何事にも向上心を持って物事を取り組み、人を頼ってはいけないということでしょうか。年々、向上心も薄れてきています。
厳しいく律してますね。
