「そうだったんだ……」二つのフレーズが紹介されています。
○ So that's how it was.　/english/phrase/1992　
○ I see. That's a good story, Tomoko.　/english/phrase/1993
So that's how it was. 真相などが理解できた時の相槌「そういうことだったんですか。」
I see. 「あらそう。」「なるほどね。」「分かった。」の相槌
That's ～ story. の形のフレーズは豊富にある。
That's the story. 　「そういうわけだ。」
That's another story. 　「それはまた別の話です。」
That's a long story.　 「話せば長くなる。」
That's kind of a funny story.　「それが妙な話なんだよ。」

○ She's got talent. I can tell.　/english/phrase/1812
「あの子は才能がある。ぼくにはわかる。」
can + tell 　「言える」というより「わかる」に近い感覚。自信のないときに I can tell. とは言えないとのこと。

○ Do you mind taking him with you?　/english/phrase/1813
「チャロをお願いしていい？」
解説より
Do you mind ...? 「…するのはおいやですか？」と、逆方向からたずねる依頼文ですから、Yes. と答えてしまうと断ることになってしまいます。いやでなければ、ニコニコしながら、No. Not at all. Of course not. などと答えましょう。

「オーケー、チャロ、きみもいっしょに来るんだ。」
be ...ing を使った、相手の未来の行動を断定する強引な言い方。冗談半分に使われることもある。

○ I know this is outrageous, but please.　/english/phrase/1815
「ムチャなのはわかっています、でもお願いです。」
outrageous　形容詞「突飛な、度を超えた」

○ After talking to an old man, Tomoko and Charo entered the theater and went into the still-empty audience hall.

「おじいさんに話して劇場に入れてもらうと、トモコとチャロはまだ誰もいない客席へと入っていきました。」
still-empty 形容詞「まだ空っぽの」

○ If this doesn't work out, I'll never be bothering you again.

work out 　「うまくいく」

○ I never knew there could be anything so special.　/english/phrase/1818
「あんなにすごいものがあるなんて思いもしなかった。」
I never knew (that) .... 　何かを初めて知って意外だったり、驚いたりしたときの表現。

○ Hey, you guys, there's no time to be fooling around.

「あなたたち、ふざけてる時間はないのよ。」
fool around 「ふざける」。

○ But I really feel good about myself.　/english/phrase/1820
「でもすごくいい気分。」
解説より
I feel good. でもよいところに about oneself がつくことで、「自分の行い」に対して気分が良くなっていることを表現しています。

○ And ... speak of the devil!　/english/phrase/1821
「おっと、噂をすれば、だ！」
Speak of the Devil. ことわざ「うわさをすれば影。」

○ You're the one who made me step forward.　/english/phrase/1822
「きみがいたからこそ、一歩前に踏み出せたの。」
You are the one. 　定冠詞がついているぶん「ほかならぬ、きみだよ」というニュアンスがあるとのこと。

○ They walked a few more blocks and got to an old but magnificent theater.

「トモコたちがさらに数ブロック歩くと、古いけれど立派な劇場に着きました。」
magnificent 　「見た目が壮大な、堂々とした」
