The snail was right. He did move
slowly. In fact, he moved very slowly.
Drippy was anxious to get above the
ground,and he wondered whether they
would ever reach there. The snail began
to climb upward, through the dirt,
higher and higher,until suddenly they
were out in the open,on the ground,
back in the zoo!
"This is the end of the road,"the snail
said. "You can get off now." And
again,he waited for Drippy to say thank
you.
But all Drippy said was,"Snails really
do move slowly,don't they?" And he
slid off the snail's back.
The snail sadly shook his head and
slowly walked away.
