"It was a good idea to hunt here.
There are a lot of animals around."
"But we have to be careful. This is not
the hunting season. If we get caught,
we'll be put in jail."
Drippy wondered whether a jail was
anything like a zoo. He was not sure
why, but Drippy had the feeling that
these were bad men.
"But don't worry. They won't catch
us. This is a big forest. After lunch
we'll see if we can find us some more
deer to shoot."
"Right. And maybe some more birds.
I'm going to take that owl I shot and
stuff it. It will look good over my
fireplace in my den at home."
"But I wanted that owl."
"Okay,okay. I'll tell you what. We'll
just shoot another owl,and then we
each get one."
If they each shoot one owl, that will
make two owls. And Drippy was very
proud of himself,because he knew that
one and one made two. Not for a
moment did he worry about what was
happening to the owls.
