I’ll read and write about a new essay with a new title
named “ Man Box”.
This is Hethery’s second essay on the changing society.
Man Box — 1 男らしさという枠
Even as kid I thought it was strange that my mother were spiked heels
to work every day.
She was a secretary in the 1960s.
I was 9 when she remarried, but she kept working full time
for a boss she called the Boob at home, which meant
“ idiot” or “fool.”
・spiked heels …… 先のとがったハイヒール
・boob …… ばか、間抜け
子どもの頃ですら、私は母が毎日先のとがったとがったハイヒールを履いて
仕事にいくのを奇妙だと思っていました。
母は1960年代に秘書として働いていました。
私が9歳のときに母は再婚しましたが、フルタイムの仕事を続けており、
上司のことをBoobと呼んでいました。
これは「ばか者」や「間抜け」という意味です。
( This is an interesting opening to the essay.
It's hard to raise a child while working.
It's even more difficult to be a single parent.
And this essay's mother remarried when the author was young.
She was still working as a secretary.

私が入っている一つの会は元貴婦人方の集まりで、高齢でもハイヒールを履いている人がいました。
でもその方々は亡くなるか退会されました。
今はほとんどが運動靴系です。
私は職業柄40年も前からローヒールです。
