Kurz nach Mitternacht ist mein Sohn plötzlich angekommen. Ich war aus allen Wolken gefallen, aber das hat mich gefreut. Er war auf eine Geschöftsreise in Narita. Er wollte nach Nagoya zurückfahren, aber es wurde zu spät. Er hat bei uns übernachtet. Morgen früh ist er nach Nagoya abgefahren.

Après minuit, mon fils est venu chez nous tout à coup au retour d'un voyage d'affaires. Je suis tombé des nues, mais j'était heureuse. Il a passé la nuit chez nous, et il est rentré à Nagoya tôt ce matin.

Just after midnight, when I was just about to go to bed, I heard the door opened with a snap. Oh, no! My husband has already been in bed. Who was it? Then, the voice came, "I'm back!" Oh, my son came out of the blue! I didn't know he was coming. "Sorry, such a late hour, but you didn't answer the phone", he said. I checked my iPhone to find that I had got a phone call from him 20 minutes before. Anyway, I was glad he came home. He said, "I was on a business trip in Narita Branch, and I was going to go back to Nagoya directly. On my way back, I found a nice Iranian restaurant and had dinner. Then, I came across a spa on the way, so I had a long soak to shack off the fatigue from work. It got so late to go back to Nagoya that I hit upon an idea to stay with you." Very good. That's a good idea. Having no beer in the fridge, I made him a glass of ume soda, which is the first sip of this year. We had a chat for a while. Since he had to go back to Nagoya Office the next morning, I urged him to go to bed. He left home for Nagoya by car at around six o'clock this morning. I said to him, "Come again another day, and stay longer." He said, "I will." I gave him some veggies fresh from the veggie garden, and omiyage from Takayama.
In the morning, I went to COSTOCO with my friend on the 8th floor. I was shocked that prices have surged more and more. In the afternoon, I went to work as usual. What a hectic, but nice day!

しかし、うれしいびっくりでしたね。
私が最近体験した値上げは、ヤオコーのアボカドです。いつも質が良いので買うのですがすごく上がりました。きっと円安が響いています。海外産のはどれもそう感じます。
