Croome クルーム
On last day in Ledbury cottage, we went to a neighbouring village called Croome with Mary. In Croome, there is a mid-18th century manshion now operated by National Trust. The proper name is Croome Court, the former home of the 6th Earl of Coventry. Now inside the court is a museum. One room was particularly colourful with many, many Royal Worcester porcelains in mirrored cupboard and mirror ceiling. As you may know, the Royal Worcester porcelains are often beautifully painted in flower patterns so the room was really bright and enjoyable. In other rooms, there were lots of art works, especially drawings around this property and villages near by. In a bed room, there was one bed on display which was canopied bed with so many decorations and valued extraordinary high price and two hundred years old. Outside was beautiful with vast fields of green.
レッドベリー最後の日は、メアリーと近くの村、クルームを訪ねた。そこには、18世紀半ばに建てられ、今はナショナルトラストが管轄の貴族の館がある。正しくは、クルーム・コートと言い、6代目のコベントリー伯爵の館だったらしい。今では、中は博物館である。その中でも一室は、ロイヤルウースター（ここは、ウースターシャーなので）のたくさんの食器が、ガラスの食器棚・ガラスの天井の部屋に展示されており、華やかだった。ご存知のように、ロイヤルウースターの食器は花をモチーフにした色鮮やかなものなので、とても明るく楽しい展示になっていた。他の部屋では、美術品が多く、特にこの土地の水彩画や近隣の村の絵が多かった。一つの寝室では、天蓋付きの200年前のベッドで飾りがものすごく、価値のすごく高いものもあった。外は美しい広い広い緑の庭だった。
