We came home… 帰宅
Our holiday is over, we came back to New Zealand a couple of days ago. I really feel NZ is so far away from other countries. When we got on board, it was Sunday afternoon in Denmark and when we arrived in Auckland it was Tuesday morning. This is because of long flights and the time difference which is 10 hours ahead.
The day we returned home it was not as cold as I had expected but since then it started to rain and got a little colder. Today is the shortest day in NZ. We have started using the fireplace, too. It is not as cold as Japanese winter here but still feels like dark and wet winter.
Our neighbour who is looking after our chickens during our holiday brought some bakings when we came home. She knows that there’s not much food at home at the moment!
休暇が終わり数日前に帰宅した。本当にNZは他の国から遠いな、と思う。デンマークから飛行機に乗った時には、日曜日の午後、そしてオークランド空港に着いたのは火曜の早朝だった。それは、長い飛行時間と１０時間進んでいる時差のせいだ。
家に着いた日には、思っていたほど寒くないと感じたが、それから雨が降り寒くなってきた。今日はNZで一番日が短い日。暖炉も使い始めた。日本の冬のように寒くはないが、やはり暗く雨の多い冬と感じる。
私たちの家の鶏を預けている近所の方が、家に手作りお菓子を持ってきてくれた。帰ったばかりで、家にあまり食べ物がないことを知っているのだ。（有難い。。）
