This was Big Ben`s last chime before falling silent for four years.
The iconic bell will remain silent until 2021, while conservation works are carried out.
The chimes emanating from the bell have kept time in the British capital for 157 years.
Big Ben will continue to chime for "important national events" such as New Year`s Eve and Remembrance Sunday.

これはビッグ・ベンが4年間停止する前の最後の鐘の音です
この有名な鐘は保全工事のため2021まで沈黙のままとなります。
この鐘の音は、157 年間のイギリスの首都の時を刻んできました。
ビッグ ・ ベンは、今後も大晦日や戦没者追悼の日などの“重要な国の行事”では鐘を鳴らすといいます。

Nihonium Added to Periodic Table　Part 1

The periodic table of the elements has a new member, and it's named after Japan
A naming ceremony has been held in Tokyo for the chemical element, which was
created by Japanese scientists.
The name of element 113, nihonium, comes from the word "Nihon," which means
"Japan" in Japanese. A team at Japan's RIKEN institute synthesized it in 2004.
The President of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry attended
the ceremony. " I hereby declare the 113th element name nihonium,"she said. She
Pointed out that nihonium is the first element ever discovered in Asia.
The leader of the research team explained about the name." We decided on the
name nihonium, with the atomic symbol Nh. This was out of respect for our
predecessors, as well as in gratitude for the support from the Japanese people."
Officials at Japan's science ministry say nihonium now appears in many high
School textbooks.

日本のことについて外国の方に説明するときは、しつこいぐらいでないと
よく伝わらない。

文部科学省を短く表現したもので、英語名はthe Ministry of Education,Culture,
Sports, Science and Technology
science ministry, the education ministryなどはあくまで説明的な表現で固有名詞
ではないのですべて小文字で表記。
